As a former New Jersey Recruiting Analyst for Rivals.Com, Nick was also involved with the nations top High School Football combine, (Elite College Combine). He has watched hundreds of individual high school recruiting videos and has spoke with many college coaches about prospective football recruits. Through all of this, he has learned the most important aspect of producing a football recruiting highlight video:  Knowing what plays NOT to put on to your recruiting video!  Many excellent high school players are left out of the recruiting mix because they did not begin to market themselves early enough. Why have a Highlight Video and when do I send them out?

College coaches recruit prospective players all year round, but January through May are the months that coaches really tune into the Junior prospect. If you are looking to play football at the college level, this is a very important time. You need to have a video of your Junior season sent out to the colleges to help the recruiting process really kick into gear. If you’re a sophomore and seen significant varsity action, you to should be sending out a highlight DVD. It’s not too early to get yourself on the radar with colleges as a prospective recruit.

Not only should the junior and sophomore be sending a highlight DVD to colleges, but also to recruiting ranking services such as Rivals.Com, Scout.Com and EliteRecruits.Com. Etc.  These services will usually put your highlight video up on their site where college coaches often visit. They rank prospective juniors and sophomores and having you listed in their database will also help in the recruiting process.

 For the senior prospect, you need to get a video out ASAP.


What do I need to have my video made by GetRecruitedFilms?

It’s simple:

  • A copy of your sophomore, junior or senior year games on DVD and then mail them to us. They will be returned with your completed highlight DVD  

  • Your measurables: Height, weight, any season honors and your season statistics if you want them included in your highlight DVD

  • If you want a specific song on your video, let us know. Otherwise, we will pick the music for you

  • Provide us with your position, the number on your jersey and if you played offense, defense or both ways
